Neville Lecture was digitally enhanced for the best
sound quality possible. Because of how old the reel to reel tapes are and
the equipment and position of the people who recorded the Neville Lecture in
the audience there were many challenges with these recordings. With software
and a delightful attitude we lovingly edited each lecture to preserve
every word that Neville spoke. Sometimes when there was a background
noise of a cough, a chair sliding, a clearing of a throat, a vehicle going
by, etc., Neville's words were not possible to be heard. Sometimes
we needed to cut out a cough or distracting background noise when Neville's
words were not heard. We put between 8-25 hours into each lecture to get
them to the state so you can listen to them. We could not do much with the
background noise other than lower it at times or cut some of it out to make
the recording easier to listen to. The reel to reel audio recording equipment
in the 1960s and 1970s was recorded in mono and not stereo. We made each
lecture into stereo for easier and more brilliant sound quality for
